"Initially when I became involved with Architectural Conservation it was difficult to source the correct tools for the job and invariably ended up making my own, particularly floats, trowels and pointing tools. It was then that a colleague informed me of plastering tool suppliers on my doorstep in Upton, Poole. Refina stock a wide range of tools and equipment is not only for modern building trades but is particularly useful for traditional plastering methods.
As well as hand tools such as various sized margin trowels, small tools and stainless steel bricklayers trowels, and trowels for Venetian plasters (marmarino), Refina supplied me with a small portable mortar mill, which proved invaluable when ‘knocking up’ or reworking lime mortars on site. The mortar mill pictured here at Hardy’s Cottage in Dorset was used to batch materials, including clay, sand and lime mortars, and to rework fine finish plasters. The crushing action of the rollers ‘work’ the lime mortars unlike any other mixer or forced action mixer, it is essential for achieving maximum plasticity and workability of the mortar."

JUNE 2007 "I'm sending you this email regarding our conversation about the refina mixing drill which i brought from refina
around twelve years ago this drill has had heavy industrial use in the plastering trade on a daily basis.
For the first time in twelve years i need to replace a part which is the trigger mechanism, outstanding value. "

"Re: Powerprep - We have tried the machine on an existing contract for the removal of paint from soft sandstone ... I am pleased to report that the machine performed exceptionally well without any damage to the underlying soft sandstone. The machine removed the paint brilliantly and moreover we successfully redressed some of the existing lintels using the ZEC disc. The small purchase price combined with the quality of its German manufacture resulted in an excellent small investment. We will be pleased to purchase other products and equipment from your extensive range."

"We recently purchased a Rotamixer RM65, 110V machine from yourselves. I would like to say how pleased I was with the machine. We recently carried out an epoxy floor laying contract at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. We used the RM65 to mix 15 tonnes of epoxy screed over a two week period. The RM65 mixed consistently with a constant power, indeed, pleasantly, it did exactly what you described in your literature.
I thank you for prompt service and look forward to continued service from your company"

"Just a quick note - we use your MM19 mixer. We fix a 6" plastic plate to the bottom of the mixer before mixing and a lot of the splash back from mixing plaster hits that and saves a lot of cleaning and damage to the mixer.
Yours sincerely, a very satisfied customer"

"Thank you for your recent delivery which was received today as promised.
We have used the smaller machines for skimming etc. but are most
impressed with these MM30's, which we have been using for many years
now. They are pressed quite hard when mixing plaster for a gang all day
long or for heavy mixes like drywall compounds but always prove reliable
and seem to go on for ever (if looked after!). I'm sure we will be
buying many more."
