Paddle Mixing & Machine Mixing Guide For Flooring Materials & Screed

MATERIAL PADDLE MIXING MACHINE MIXING
EPOXY TOPPINGS & MORTARS
Epoxy paints, high build coating & self-levelling toppings Epoxy floor coatings require thorough mixing before application
Most epoxies benefit from being mixed at slow speeds, under 300rpm, to minimise air entrainment
The MM22 MEGAMIXER with an MR3 spiral design paddle is recommended
For mixing larger container sizes of epoxy coatings use the RM32 ROTAMIXER
This mixer will continuously mix 25kg batches in about 2 minutes, up to 20 mixes an hour
Epoxy screeds & mortars Epoxy mortars can be heavy sticky materials that are hard to mix
Use the slower speed MM22 or MM30 MEGAMIXERS with an MR4 screw type paddle
The MZR21 with twin contra-rotating paddles gives the most thorough mix action for heavy mortars and also has the easiest mix action
The RM65 ROTAMIXER will mix up to two x 25kg bags of epoxy mortar, thoroughly and quickly
Latex & self-levelling toppings Latex and cement based floor toppings and self-levellers require thorough mixing before application
Unlike epoxies, cement based pourable toppings benefit from being mixed at faster speeds, about 500rpm, to disperse the powders into the liquid
The MM19, MM21 and MM29 are suitable single speed MEGAMIXERS. The MM22 and MM30 are two speed MEGAMIXERS that can be run at 500rpm for cement based toppings or slower speeds for mortars. An MR3 spiral paddle or MR8 impellor paddle is recommended
The RM32 rotary drum mixer thoroughly mix latex and cementitious self-levellers
Polymer screeds Polymer screeds are normally used in large volumes and need a constant supply of mixed material
The MM29 or MM30 MEGAMIXERS with an MR3 spiral paddle are recommended
Screeds are normally mixed in larger batches and should be mixed using the RMX100 ROTAMIXERS
